„I see trees of green, red roses too, I see them bloom for me and you, and I think to myself what a wonderful world“ mit diesen Zeilen beginnt Louis Armstrongs „What A Wonderful World“, doch ganz so optimistisch sieht Britanniens erdigste Soul-Stimme James Morrison das nicht.
„Ich sage, dass es eine „Wonderful World“ sein könnte – dass sich die Dinge derzeit aber nicht danach anfühlen. Der Song handelt davon, wie es ist, wenn man rausgeht und keiner will einen mehr reinlassen.“ James Morrison hat das besondere Talent, in seinem wohligen Soul-Pop die heile und bittere Welt authentisch und emotional zu skizzieren – und das ist ihm mit „Wonderful World“ perfekt gelungen.
Sein Debüt „Undiscovered“ landete in England unter den zehn erfolgreichsten Alben des Jahres und nach seiner Erfolgssingle „You Give Me Something“ erscheint mit „Wonderful World“ endlich seine zweite Single.
